Final WordsLenten Series: Final Words from the Cross is a video discussion course with Adam Hamilton, the popular speaker from last year’s Lent and Advent series. The course begins February 26th and will be led by Seminary Intern Pat Futato and Elder Francine Maestri. In this series, Hamilton highlights for us that in life and in death, Jesus’ words were powerful and meaningful. Despite the serious effort and increased pain required for Jesus to speak as he hung on the cross, Jesus spoke seven "final words" – statements that have much to teach us about Jesus, his Father, and ourselves.

Father Forgive Them

Behold Your Son...Behold Your Mother

My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?

Today You Will Be With Me In Paradise

I Thirst

It Is Finished

Into Your Hands I Commit My Spirit

A DVD/discussion series featuring nationally renowned speaker and pastor, Brian McLaren, begins on Jan. 8th.  Based on his book, Everything Must Change, this series looks at the demands on the followers of Christ in light of the major issues of our time.  McLaren invites participants to discover a "form of Christian faith that is holistic, integral, balanced and that offers good news for both the living and the dying revealing God's grace at work."  Books will be available in class.  Please sign up on the Connection Card or by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Feasting on the Word. This class invites our parents and other adults to study the same Biblical stories and passages that our children and youth will study in Sunday School this year. These same Scriptures will often be the basis for the sermons in worship on Sunday mornings, too. Adults see the world through the filter of life experience and life transitions. Adults enter Bible study and worship bringing with them this variety of views. Feasting on the Word materials will engage adults in a deeper exploration of biblical texts. Participants' faith will be enhanced when the Scriptures read and proclaimed in worship are reinforced and expanded during each class. Education and worship can be mutually supportive in helping God's Word in Scripture come alive in the Sunday morning experience. Elder Laura Davison and Pastor Lynn are co-leading this class.

Weekday Classes

You are invited to prayerfully consider studying and growing in your faith and fellowship in one of our four weekday studies:

  • Mondays, 7:00-9:00 pm: Disciple: Under the Tree of Life is a 32 week study of the Old Testament writings, the Gospel of John and Revelation. Seminary Intern Pat Futato and class members are co-leading this study.

  • Tuesdays, 9:30-11:00 am: Galations and James: Faith and Works is an eleven week Bible study beginning February 7th. Galations is the apostle Paul's letter that is called by many "the Magna Carta of Christian liberty" in which Paul puts forth his doctrine of justification by grace alone. In the letter of James, the author reminds believers that love of one's neighbor fulfills the Law. Pastor Lynn and Pastor Lewis are leading this class.

  • Wednesdays, 9:30-11:00 am: Women’s Bible Study. On February 15th, a ten week study by Beth Moore called "A Woman's Heart: God's Dwelling Place" begins. Join us as we explore the fascinationg account of the building of the Old Testament tabernacle, the significance of its intricate design, its pivotal role in God's eternal plan, the grand fulfillment of its purpose by Jesus Christ and how your heart serves as a dwelling place for God. Feel free to bring a friend! Childcare is available. For more information, please contact Kate Canady.

  • Third Saturday of each month, 7:30-9:00 am: Men’s Breakfast. A monthly breakfast and men’s Bible study group. Elder Bret Fields coordinates this study.
