Mission Activities
The members of Clifton Presbyterian Church share their time, talent and financial resources with the community, both locally and internationally. Programs include:
- Our summer 2012 trips: The Haiti team volunteering with Hearts with Haiti based at the Wings of Hope site for orphans with special needs in Fermathe outside of Port au Prince. The NAILS team serving and helping the local community in Cumberland, MD.
- Prior mission trips to Hospital Ste Croix in Leogane, Haiti, "Project Crossroads" in the heart of the Appalachians in Virginia, the Puentes de Cristo Mission in Mexico, and the NAILS Mission Project in Maryland to assist with construction and renovation projects.
- Contributing food, clothing, holiday gifts, on-call referral assistance and transportation to the needy through Western Fairfax Christian Ministries.
- Reaching those nearby through a weekday preschool program.
- Participating in the Angel Tree Ministry program to support families of prisoners.
- Leading worship six times a year at the Fairfax Nursing Care Center.
- Working in partnership with the Presbyterian Church in Kenya, East Africa.
- Serving meals at S.O.M.E. (So Others May Eat), a soup kitchen in Washington, D.C. and other homeless shelters.
- Hosting weekly meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous.
- Sponsoring Boy Scout Troop 1104.
- Supporting 30 Hour Famine, Clifton Day, Interfaith Housing, Foster Parents, New Church Development, Union Theological Seminary and Heifer International.
- Hosting the Glory Korean Church for services and Christian education.
