Calendar FeaturesThe online calendar format is designed to provide a comprehensive view of CPC's latest event information and easy access to many useful and exciting features. The calendar may be displayed in a variety of ways and can even be customized to suit a specific interest! There are four standard views that are displayed by selecting the corresponding tab at the top of the calendar: “This Month's Calendar”, “This Month's Events”, “This Week's Events” and “Today's Events.” Each view is described below.
This Month's Calendar: This view presents the calendar in a grid format displaying the time and title of the event. By placing your mouse over the event name, detailed information that may be associated with this event will appear in a pop-up box. To access additional information, click on the event to display the event detail screen. The calendar is initially displayed in “This Month's Calendar” view.
This Month's Events: This is a list view of all the events for the month showing the time, title and an event location if applicable. More information may be obtained by placing your mouse over the event name and also by clicking on the event to display the event detail screen.
This Week's Events: This shows the current week's events (Sunday - Sunday) in list format including the time, title and an optional event location. Position your mouse over the event name for pop-up details or click on the event to display the event detail screen.
Today's Events: This screen shows the current day's events in list format. This view may also be accessed by clicking on the current day in the calendar graphic that appears in the upper right corner. As in the previous views, pop-up details are obtained by placing your mouse over the event name and the event detail screen may be accessed by clicking on the event.
Event Detail: Learn more about an event by clicking on the title of the event in any of the views described above. A detail screen will appear that provides additional data related to the event which may include any or all of the following items: an event description, a location such as the Manse or Fellowship Hall, a link to a related web site and a map icon for accessing expedia.com to obtain a destination map and driving directions to an off-site event.
Send an E-mail Reminder: Would you like to be reminded of an upcoming event? In the event detail screen, fill in your name, e-mail address and select how many days in advance you would like to be notified. Then just click the “send reminder” link and you will be sent an e-mail message containing the event information!
Invite a Friend: Do you know someone who may be interested in an upcoming event? Send them an invitation! In the event detail screen, provide your name, e-mail address and the e-mail address of the person to whom you would like the invitation sent. Then just click the “send” link to complete the request.
Event Highlights: Upcoming featured events will appear in the scrolling box located at the top of the calendar. Additional detail associated with the event may be accessed by clicking on the event.
Calendar Graphic: Located in the upper right corner of the screen, this feature provides a quick way to access event information for a specific day. Simply click on the desired day to view the information in list format.
Interest Groups: Would you like to view only those types of events in which you are most interested? Then choose an interest category from the drop down list that is located above the calendar on the right side. For example, select “bible study” in order to view only those events that are related to this particular interest type. To return to the complete calendar, select “all interest groups.”
Search the Calendar: Enter a key word or phrase in the search box located directly above the calendar and click on the search button. All current and future events containing the search criteria in either the title or the detail will be displayed in list format. Check the box labeled “Include Past Events” if desired.
Print View: To obtain a print version of the calendar, first display the calendar view you wish to print from among the views described above. Then click on the “Print View” tab. A new browser window will open that contains a set of instructions explaining the recommended print settings. Click on the link labeled “Landscape Printable Version.” This is the recommended page orientation. Another browser window will appear displaying the calendar in print format. Set the page orientation, margins and header/footer according to the instructions provided. Follow the procedure for printing the grid lines for “This Month's Calendar” format if necessary. In the File menu, choose Print and then click the OK button.
Download Calendar Data: Event data may be downloaded to your personal computer and then imported into a compatible program such as Excel or Outlook. First display the calendar view containing the data you wish to download. Events may even be customized for a particular interest group. For example, to download “youth” events only, select the “youth” interest group prior to downloading. Then, simply click on the “Download Calendar Data” tab, click on the “Download Now” link and then save the file on your hard drive.

E-Mail a Calendar Request: Updates to the calendar may be submitted via e-mail to the church secretary. Simply click on this link to compose an e-mail message describing the details of the event to be added, changed or deleted. Please be sure to include the event date, time, title, description and location if applicable.
