Local Mission

CPC supports the following local ministries:

Western Fairfax Christian Ministries (WFCM) serves many of the most vulnerable families in our area, and is a primary partner in local mission for CPC. In addition to our financial support of WFCM, we support its Free Market Food Pantry with a Food Drive on the third Saturday of each month; and CPC members volunteer weekly to pick up donated groceries from Wegman’s and Costco. Total groceries CPC volunteers delivered to the WFCM Free Market last year: 24 tons!!!

WFCM assesses needs and provides people with assistance in both crisis situations and with long-term challenges. WFCM, a collaborative effort by local churches, offers a Free Market food pantry, utility subsidies, free budget and financial workshops, and other services. The LAMB Center is a day center for homeless and precariously housed adults in the Fairfax area. The LAMB Center provides meals, showers and laundry services, as well as job and spiritual counseling. CPC volunteers prepare and provide delicious hot meals monthly for the center, in addition to our financial support.

CPC provides financial support to the Fort Belvoir Fisher House in its assistance to the families of wounded veterans receiving care at the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.

CPC continues to sponsor Boy Scout Troop 1104 as part of our outreach to youth in the community. We have been the recipients of many Eagle Scout projects including the improvement of the trail for the preschool and the painting of the garage.

Domestic Disaster Response: Our contributions, through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, have helped those affected by natural disasters in the U.S.  We have also provided supplies for clean-up buckets.
